About Tanya

Tanya R. Young Williams is a TV Personality, a frequent Commentator for HLN, legal analyst for KTLA news, inspirational speaker, author and contributor to Huffington Post.  Tanya was thrust into the public spotlight when her estranged husband, former NBA All-Star, Jayson Williams, was tried for the fatal shooting of his limo driver in 2002.  Her numerous television appearances brought the attention of networks and as a result she is often called upon to speak about celebrity troubles, domestic violence, high-profile trials, tragedy and traumatic events and family matters.

Tanya’s expertise as a trial consultant stems from her first-hand knowledge of living through and being intimately involved in every phase of a high-profile trial – from jury selection through the verdict announcement. Tanya’s ability to share her unique perspective makes her commentary powerfully enlightening to her audiences. Nationally, Williams has appeared on 20/20 with Barbara Walters, Good Morning America, The Early Show, ESPN, The Mike Huckabee Show, Nancy Grace Show, Dr. Drew Show, Jane Velez-Mitchell Show, Evening Express, Court TV,  TMZ, KTLA, WPIX, and FoxNY.

Tanya is a powerful and captivating public speaker and is often called to speak at a wide variety of events and workshops.  Her advocacy of regaining your personal power extends to all audiences.  The New Jersey Regional Council of the National Women’s History Museum also named Williams an Honorable Woman of New Jersey. Tanya has been a Celebrity Spokesperson for the National Domestic Violence Hotline. She has also starred in the VH1′s controversial hit series, Basketball Wives LA. Tanya has spent the greater part of her life studying religion, philosophy and emotional wellness.  Tanya is establishing a non-profit organization called “Let it Out Now” (LION) to offer an outlet for victims of abuse to share theirs story and seek support.

Carry Your Own S#!T (Oops I Mean Bags) A 7 Day Journey to Peace, Passion and Purpose that was released in 2011 to wonderful reviews.  Tanya works tirelessly at improving her craft and listening to the silent majority. Her immediate goal is to create a talk show that informs, empowers and entertains her audience.

Tanya lives in Los Angeles and Manhattan and is the mother of two daughters, Tryumph and Whizdom.
